This lovely set of baby blankets was made for someone at work when she was expecting twins. Their nursery colors were grey and pink, so that’s where the colors came from. I think it ended up being a really nice color combination. I wasn’t sure what to make when I first went to the store for yarn, but when I found this blanket yarn that was amazingly soft and fluffy, I knew it had to be blankets.
I am usually a slow knitter, but these knitted up quickly. Not only because the yarn was so thick, but it was just so fun to work with that I didn’t want to put it down. I cast on about 70 stitches and did a seed stitch until I was out almost out of yarn and bound off. Then I crocheted the pink edging around it.
The pink yarn was slightly different and a bit thinner, so crocheting it made it feel closer in weight to the rest of the knitted portion.
I also ended up making some hats and booties in the same color scheme because I found more super soft yarn and couldn’t resist.
