These gloves were made for the sole purpose that my hands were always freezing when I was on the computer and I needed something I could type in (fingerless), but also something that would keep my hands warm. It wasn’t perfect because my fingers didn’t get any warmer and it was awkward to use the mouse in them, but they have seen their fair share of use, especially with sweaters that have a three-quarter sleeve or a short sleeve. I ended up taking the thumbs out and using them more or less as wrist warmers when I was working. I am planning on making another pair with thinner yarn that will be longer on the fingers side, but maybe later.
The How
The majority of the gloves is knitted in moss stitch (1×2 of knit/purl) with a 9-stitch braid on the top side. Because of the moss stitch, there was no need for ribbing. I also use circular needles or double-pointed needles wherever possible because I hate seams, so this was made with four double-pointed needles. The yarn was a bit difficult to deal with because it had so many fibers, but I like it overall.
